all in a weeks fun

To those of you that are buried in snow, I’m sorry. I’ve seen pictures, that looks just terrible. My brain absolutely can’t understand what negative temperatures feel like. Honestly, my brain can barely comprehend what temperatures below freezing, for an extended period of time, feel like.

Our weather has been absolutely perfect for the last couple of weeks – aside from total days of rain, it’s been awesome. Again, sorry you’re drowning in snow – but come August, when you’re weather is awesome, and I’m sweating the second I step out of the shower, you can remind me that I bragged about how our weather was awesome when you had snow as high as your rooftops.

Today we are dealing with high winds, and rain.. It’s been less than 1 day and I’m already going crazy being stuck in the house – this is compounded by the fact that Paisley is not in the best mood. There really isn’t anything to do in our area on days where the weather isn’t ideal for outside playing – plus, gray skies are just depressing. Our original plans were to go to an indoor play place in Tarpon Springs, but that’s a hour drive, which, isn’t THAT far, but, when you’re toddler isn’t a fan of the car seat, and she’s already cranky – you have to pick your battles.

We attempted the playground, but got rained out after about 10 minutes – so then we tried the library. That lasted about 30 minutes before it started pouring and I decided that we should head home now before we were stranded there for the duration of the afternoon. Paisley had fun playing with a puzzle and wandering around the children’s area.

(I started writing this post a few days ago, so the above part is not actually today… that was Tuesday, I think.)

Today (thursday) we will not be going to the playground! The high today is 48, which, I know is warm for some of you crazy people, but that is down right cold for us. We are not equipped to go play in those kind of temperatures. We went to the playground yesterday, and nearly froze. The wind is what’s making it so miserable. I just checked our weather, 42, but feels like 33 bc we are having 20mph winds. GET OUT OF HERE YOU CRAZY WINDS! Geesh! It’s been like this for days.. ugh.

So today we are going to do indoor activities – not quite sure what that is yet? Play dough, coloring, reading, blocks… oh boy, it’s going to be a long day. Oh, and Paisley is FINALLY going to get her MMR vaccine. I’m slightly freaked out by this measles outbreak situation. She was scheduled for her 15mth well baby visit at the end of March, but I could not wait another month for her to have the MMR vaccine. I know I am not the only one having this reaction, as a friend of mine also took her son to get his MMR & his pediatrician said they have had an influx of calls to get the MMR ASAP.. and to that I say, THANK GOD! I’m happy to hear people are rushing around trying to get their kids vaccinated.

I know that there have not been any cases in Florida – the closest confirmed case was in Georgia, which was a kid from outside the U.S. …but I don’t care – it only takes one case. Okay. vaccine talk over.

Since you endured my crazy.. here are some cute pictures of Paisley at the playground on Wednesday.
